G'day,

With regard to CBW's (C-Bus Wireless) limitation on range... (until a repeater is produced)...
In installations where physical constraints such as in-floor heating, reinforced concrete or unconventional architectural styles can limit the range even further, additional wireless gateways may be installed at suitable locations to increase range. Each gateway will have to be assigned a new zone (is that the right speak?) but key assignments from devices in different zones can cross between zones. A typical two storey install may have one gateway upstairs at the front of the premises to cover devices on the top floor and the front (outside); and another on the ground floor at the rear for devices downstairs and the rear yard.

Yes, you can do this.

Just make sure each is in a different "house code" - so your wireless networks are separate from each other.

Note, that just like a C-Bus bridge, information can pass ONLY through 1 gateway to the other side.

Usng installation software (ie Toolkit) you can set up the "forward to a remote network" option, which will allow wireless commands to go from a wireless network into the network next door (link the adjacent option) AND also to one other network which could be on the other side of a gateway.

Building materials that are highly RF absorbtive (eg reinforced concrete) will reduce range, but it is NOT possible to predict by how much.

It may also be worth while noting that to link these two wireless networks together, you will require a wired network connected between the two wireless gateways.
This wired network need only consist of the two wireless gateways and a
C-Bus Power supply. You will however need to program the two gateways using Toolkit and hence a PC inteface will be needed to do this.
Please ensure that you have the clock switched on in the Gateway and a burden set, prior to removing the PC inteface.
