Can a basic C-Bus system be integrated in to a Clipsal Starserve Pro system? If so is there any info on this I that can get please?

There are a couple of levels at which Starserve and C-Bus can be integrated.

1. INFRARED
Both Starserve and C-Bus have infrared send and receive capabilities. So, in addition to using your regular remote controls to adjust TV channels etc, you can also do it via key input or C-Touch.
I don't know if this can work the other way around, ie using non-C-Bus remotes to activate lighting via the Starserve system. I'd like to find out though!

2. VOICE & DATA
C-Bus can make use of Starserve-distributed voice & data cabling, with the telephone interface, network (ethernet) interface, and software such as Homegate.


I assume you've been to their website - www.clipsal.com/cis - they have plenty of PDF downloads outlining these products.

I see that there is a need for many more forums to cover all CIS equipment. The Minder forum was removed, and now we have a StarServe (not C-Bus specific) query here.
Generally, people involved with C-Bus ALSO have contact with other CIS stuff eg. Minder, Starserve, Keyless entry etc.
Maybe this is something to look into??

:) Thanks for the pointers. I have looked at the info but it is very confusing. Anyway my intergrator should be able to help me out - I really juts wanted to see if Starserve can accomadate C-Bus, now I will start reading up!
