Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Clipsal Homespeak. I have just read a small article in December APC magazine (Australia). Seems to work as it sounds. Voice control of automated houses with built in microphones. Anyone ???

Homespeak is another one of CIS's software packages that uses C-Gate to issue commands from the PC to C-bus. Homespeak uses the a "Dragon Natrally Speaking" speech engine to recognise voice commands.

The way it works is by waking up homespeak by saying a "hot word" (usually some unique name or word that wont be used often). Once you say this word, it will begin to listen for further commands like "Dim loung lights to 48% over 2 mins"

The microphones you mention, need to be connected into the line in of the computer. Obviously with a domectic installation (where you want a mic in each room) you will need to use a mixer to feed the signal into the PC. Remembering that all mics in the mixer are feeding into the Line in of the PC.
