I need to knock up an old B&W CTouch programming cable.. Is it just the standard colour order on the RJ plug? And I'm guesssing its just 2/3 and 5 on the DB9? but what colours?

There are no standard colours for the wires in an RS-232 cable.

You will need to supply handshaking signals as well (pins 4,5 from memory). They are used to power part of the isolated input circuit.
