Is it possible to IR-control Desktop Amplifier via 3rd party remotes, such as MX3000?

Is it possible to IR-control Desktop Amplifier via 3rd party remotes, such as MX3000?

The amps uses the standard NEC protocol so I would be surprised if any learning remote couldn't learn the codes with ease.
