View Full Version : Can Schedule override keypress
I have a C-Touch unit controlling a number of outputs via schedules. I need to be able to operate these outputs with key inputs as well, but don't want the key inputs to interfere with the schedules and vice versa. ie if the key input is turned off when the schedule says the output should be on, then the output should stay on.
Can anyone tell me how to achieve, this?
The simplest (and possibily the only way currently in C-Bus) way to do this is using OR Logic in the relay or Max logic in the dimmer, see page E-59 and E-60 (though it shows a GUI for the old "black box" dimmer and relay the concept is the same) of the technical manual.

The Schedule would be turning ON/Off the Or Logic group in the corresponding Relay channel (only 4 logic groups available per new DIN type modules) and as long as the OR group is ON the channel will be ON irrespective of the state of the group assigned to the channel. When the OR group goes OFF by the Schedule then the channel restores to whatever state the group assigned to the channel is at, at that time.

if the key input is turned off when the schedule says the output should be on, then the output should stay on.
A schedule doesn't say that an output should be on or off at any given time. A scheduled event is a one off change of state. Generally you would not want a schedule to force an output on or off, as you would no longer have manual control.
There is no easy way of implementing your requirement other than by using some sort of logic.
Thanks Guru
Your solution works a treat. A button on C-Touch switching the logic group also provides full manual control.
