Hi All,

I've a PACman :D installed at the office, to do scheduling of events. It seems however, that the PAC seems to be out of whack in terms of timing. At times, its about 12 hours off sync. Other times, its a couple of hours off. No daylight savings enabled. Region: Malaysia. Has anyone seen this before?

It was configured with the latest PICED 3.2.0. I wonder if the new 3.3.0 software addresses this issue?

You would need monitor C-Bus traffic for a while (using C-Bus diagnostics software) to see if there is anything which is broadcasting rogue time messages on C-Bus.

Hi Darren,

What do rogue time messages look like?

A message containing the wrong time.

It is possible you have another device on the network broadcasting the wrong time and hence re-setting the time in the PAC.

DLT will also broadcast the time, but only IF the time is set on a DLT from the buttons on the unit. It only does the broadcast once the time is set, i.e. no regular broadcasts.

Maybe someone fiddling with the time setting on DLT's in your office?

Is the basics......
If the time gets set on one of these devices it send a message on cbus with the new time. All read and clocks set.

Or

some one becomes the master time source and all others follow.

The FAQ which comes with PICED V3.3 discusses how the time application works. The topic is called "C-Bus Unit Clocks".
