Can anyone explain what "unit conflict detected" means and why auto-fix in the c-bus software says it has resolved the problem and then reports more conflicts?

When I started a new project with all new devices that were set to their default I received the same messages. Auto fix finds the first device reports it has an conflict and assigns it a new number. It then finds the next device reports it has a conflict and then assigns it a new number. I think (without checking) that there is a "fix all" check box some where.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Colin,
I didn't install my system. I only use and modify it. When I go into c-bus it reports conflicts. I let it to auto-fix until it says it has resolved all conflicts. When I go into it again it reports conflicts again. I don't understand

My network works fine. I only want it fixed because c-gate seems to have a hernea when it finds a conflict and wont let me access any unit after the conflict.

Conflicts are generally only caused by 2 things.....

1. Units with the same address
2. Unit Comms

First thing Id sugggest is to check your burden....

What is burden? I thought auto-fix is to renumber the units; or should I do that myself?

I am more suspecious of my PCI inteferace.

Please refer to page 20 for a description of a Network Burden.

Auto-fix conflicts does re-address units, however it can make your database rather messy.....

I would be surprised if it was your PCI.....

it's that Red RJ-45 Heat shrunk with a resistor that simulates weights on the bus and stablizes the Bus :D ... it should be packaged with your 5500PC Unit (PC-Interface)... (Yeah, yeah... the Red D00biE thinGie)... :D
