I want to connect some CCTV cameras to Clipsal's quad switcher, but all the cabling has been done and the installer installed shielded, 8 core Cat5 cable.
I know there might be some issues with impedance matching but cannot find adequate information on how to do this and whether it is in fact neccesary. As far as I can understand the 75ohm coax cable generally used for such applications' impedance is determined in a much higher frequency range (+- 800 MHz) and the 100ohm impedance of Cat5 is determined at 100Mhz.
Any help?

You can buy single or 4 channel balluns to run the base band signal over cat5.
You will need one at each end.
These can be purchased from many electronic stores such as jaycar.
Typically the signals will travel over 300mts of cat5, if you require more distance you can get active balluns to go up to 3Km.
